Goodyera repens

(LINNAEUS)  R. BROWN, 1753

Μοναδική εκπρόσωπος του γένους Goodyera με ευρεία εξάπλωση στην εύκρατη Ευρώπη αλλά περιορισμένη στην Ελλάδα μόνο στα κωνοφόρα των βόρειων συνόρων με την Βουλγαρία, όπου τα τελευταία χρόνια ο Σπύρος Τσιφτσής ανακάλυψε σημαντικούς πληθυσμούς. Μικροσκοπικό φυτό με μοναδικό χαρακτηριστικό τις διακλαδιζόμενες νευρώσεις (και όχι παραλληλες) στα βασικά φύλλα. Τα άνθη είναι λευκά και μικροσκοπικά, χνουδωτά στην εξωτερική τους επιφάνεια. Φύεται σε σκιερά δάση κωνοφόρων και ανθίζει τον Ιούλιο.

Sole representative of the genus Goodyera, with widespread temperate European distribution, but in Greece, restricted only in coniferous woods of the north borders with Boulgaria, where the last few years Spyros Tsiftsis discovered important populations. Tiny plant with unique characteristic the branched (and not parallel) veins of the basal leaves. Flowers are white and small, covered with thin hair on the outside surface. It grows in the shadows of coniferous forests and flowers during July.
