Himantoglossum samariense**

Ιδιαίτερα σπάνιο, ενδημικό της Κρήτης ιμαντόγλωσσο αφού παρουσιάζεται σποραδικά, σε λίγες μόνο τοποθεσίες στους τρεις ορεινούς όγκους του νησιού, πάντοτε σε μεγάλα υψόμετρα. Θεωρείται υβριδογενές αφού παρουσιάζει ανάμεικτα στοιχεία του Himantoglossum caprinum (μεγάλο μήκος χείλους και μεγάλο βάθος σχισμής στον κεντρικό λοβό) και του Himantoglossum affine (πρασινωπές αποχρώσεις στα άνθη). Ανθίζει αργά, από τα μέσα Μαΐου ως τα τέλη Ιουνίου.
*Σημείωση: Ο Βαγγέλης Παπιομύτογλου απέστειλε ευγενικά τις παρακάτω φωτογραφίες αυτού του πολύτιμου για το site, είδους και συνετέλεσε στην αύξηση του αριθμού των παρουσιαζομένων φυτών.
Extremely rare, endemic to Crete, himantoglossum, as it sporadically occurs only in a few locations on the three mountainous massifs of the island, always at high altitudes. It's origin is considered hybridogenic, since it shows mixed characteristics of Himantoglossum caprinum (long lip and deep sinus at the central lobe) and Himantoglossum affine (generally greenish coloration of flowers). It is a late flowering species, from mid May until late June.
