Serapias cordigera

Παρά την ευρεία κατανομή της σε όλη την Μεσόγειο, η Serapias αυτή συναντάται σχετικά σπάνια. Χαρακτηρίζεται από την όψιμη ανθοφορία, κατά τους μήνες Απρίλιο-Ιούνιο. Το άνθος της είναι μεγάλο σχεδόν όσο της Serapias orientalis αλλά το χείλος της είναι σκούρο κόκκινο και με χαρακτηριστικό σχήμα καρδιάς.
Despite its wide distribution to the Mediterranean, this Serapias is relatively uncommon. It is characterized by the late flowering time, during the months April - June. Its flower is as big as the flower of Serapias orientalis, but its lip is dark red, with a characteristic shape of heart.
