Dactylorhiza baumanniana*

Πρόσφατα περιγραφείσα Dactylorhiza με έντονα κυανο-ιώδη άνθη (μερικές φορές λιλά) και βασικά φύλλα, λογχοειδή, με κηλίδες και συνήθως ανερχόμενα. Φύεται στην οροσειρά της Πίνδου, σε βαλτώδη και υγρά εδάφη, σε άκρες ρεμάτων και ανθίζει τους μήνες Μάιο-Ιούνιο. Ξεχωρίζει από την συγγενική Dactylorhiza smolikana, έχοντας πιο σκουρόχρωμα άνθη και τις χαρακτηριστικές κηλίδες στα βασικά φύλλα. Επίσης από την Dactylorhiza pindica λόγω της αραιότερης ταξιανθίας, των σκουρότερων στο χρωματισμό ανθών και του μικρότερου ύψους του βλαστού.
Recently described Dactylorhiza with deep magenta, rarely lilac flowers and basal leaves spotted and usually erect. It grows in the Pindos range, in marshy and wet soils and stream banks and flowers on May-June. It is distinguished from the relative Dactylorhiza smolikana, by having more dark flower colors and the characteristic spots on the basal leaves. Also from Dactylorhiza pindica, due to the more lax inflorescence, the darker flowers and the shorter size of the stem and leaves.
