(H. BAUMANN & KÜNKELE) P. DELFORGE, 1986

Ορχιδέα του γένους Ophrys με φαινοτυπικούς χαρακτήρες ενδιάμεσους μεταξύ των μελών της ομάδας scolopax και umbilicata, γι' αυτό και ονομάζεται από μερικούς ερευνητές (Kretzschmar, 2004), Ophrys umbilicata (DESFONTAINES) ssp. rhodia (H. BAUMANN & KÜNKELE).  Έτσι, το χρώμα των σέπαλων-πετάλων είναι σχεδόν πάντοτε πράσινο, σε αντίθεση με τα υπόλοιπα μέλη της ομάδας scolopax (βλέπε π.χ. την σελίδα της Ophrys minutula). Επίσης, το ραχιαίο σέπαλο είναι κοίλο προς τα εμπρός αλλά ποτέ δεν καλύπτει το γυνοστήμιο, σε αντίθεση με τα μέλη της ομάδας umbilicata (βλέπε π.χ. τις σελίδες των Ophrys attica και Ophrys bucephala). Είναι σπάνια στην Κάρπαθο και Κύπρο, ενώ στη Ρόδο απαντάται συχνότερα.  Άνθηση: Μάρτιος-μέσα Μαΐου.

Orchid of the genus Ophrys with phenotypic characters intermediate between members of the scolopax and umbilicata groups.  This is the reason for the terminology used by other investigators (Ophrys umbilicata ssp. rhodia, Kretzschmar, 2004). For example, its petals and sepals are almost always greenish in contrast with the rest members of the scolopax group (see the page of Ophrys minutula), while the dorsal sepal is arched forwards but never covers the gynostegium which is a constant characteristic of the umbilicata group members (see the pages of Ophrys attica and Ophrys bucephala). Rare in Karpathos and Cyprus, more frequently occurring in Rhodes . Flowering time: March - mid-May.
