Ενδημικό της βορειοδυτικής Ελλάδας, με μικρά άνθη που έχουν πιο ανοιχτόχρωμη βασική περιοχή, όπως η Ophrys herae. Το χείλος είναι συνήθως ακέραιο και φέρει μικρά εξογκώματα όπως η Ophrys mammosa. Διαφέρει από τα δύο αυτά είδη λόγω της όψιμης άνθησής του και του γενικά θολερού ελαιοπράσινου- καφετί χρωματισμού του άνθους. Ανθίζει στους νομούς Καστοριάς, Γρεβενών και Ιωαννίνων (το ανατολικότερο όριο εξάπλωσής της είναι το 'Αργος Ορεστικό, Καστοριάς*) από Μάιο ως Ιούνιο και συχνά προτιμά πλαγιές με έντονα φαινόμενα διάβρωσης, όπως φαίνεται στην διαφάνεια Νο10.
*Σημείωση: Τον Μάιο του 2005, παρατηρήθηκαν στην Ροδόπη (Νομός Δράμας), αποικία Ophrys grammica, με τυπική μορφολογία (βλέπε διαφάνεια Νο 11 και 12). Το εύρημα αυτό επεκτείνει την μέχρι τώρα γνωστή εξάπλωση της Ophrys grammica.
Endemic to northwestern Greece, with small flowers which have a lighter than the rest of the lip, basal area, usually orange-green, sometimes similar to Ophrys herae. The lip is entire and usually with two small swellings like Ophrys mammosa. The differences from these two species are the late flowering time and the, generally, dirty olive-green flower coloration. It flowers in Kastoria, Grevena and Ioannina counties (the eastern limit of its distribution is Argos Orestiko, a small town of Kastoria county*) during May-June and usually prefers serpentine, eroded grounds as you may see in the slide No10.
*Note: On May 2005, in Rhodopi massif (Drama county, of eastern Macedonia), a small colony of typical Ophrys grammica was spotted (slides No 11 and 12). This finding expands to the east the known distribution of this orchid.
